11-15-11

Its been awhile. So long in fact I am not sure which day we're on. Therefore I will jut be putting the date as the title.

Okay, What has happened since I last wrote? Not a whole lot. I went home last weekend for my almost sister's bridal shower. It was nice to be able to spend time with my family and friends.

This past Wednesday we had Tom's uncle/boss, Gino, over for dinner. Due to the fact that only half of our clocks were set back for the time change dinner did not turn out right at all. The good thing about it? Gino hasn't tasted this recipe when it was good so he had nothing to compare it to. :) He said it was good. That was nice of him.

Over the weekend Tom and I had an epiphany. If we are going to try to share the couch to watch a movie we should just get a futon. So Saturday we drove around town pricing one out. Lord willing tomorrow we will be picking one up.

Tom has been having trouble sleeping because his back hurts so yesterday I made him an appointment to go see a chiropractor. Lord willing he will be able to get some relief today at his appointment.

We also invited Hans to come over tonight after work. I guess him and Tom are going to play MW3.

While I was perusing facebook this morning I found a coupon for free curly fries at Arby's for today only. I love curly fries! So I printed it out and decided to do my shopping early today. I was cruising around town trying to find Arby's and at the last second I realized I was in the wrong lane so I decided to go to the store first and swing by Arby's on the way home. I went to the store and got what I needed and then headed over to Arby's. I pulled into the drive thru thinking that it would be faster than going in. Boy was I wrong!!! So I sat there for a little while waiting for someone to say something. When the person working drive thru finally said something it was hard to understand. They obviously didn't know what the greeting for today was. It was painful to listen to. I finally ordered and was asked to pull around to the window. I did so and then sat there for 6 minutes waiting for someone to come. 6 Minutes! All I ordered was a small curly fry and a small drink. That's it! When the lady behind me got fed up and drove away I laid on my horn hoping that might get someone's attention. (Ok, we have to pause for a second. I have worked in fast food. I know how long it takes to make what I ordered. I also know that it is rude to honk your horn to get the drive thru people's attention.) After no one responded to me honking my horn I pulled around to the front, parked and went in. There was a guy standing at the register waiting for some one to wait on him. I started yelling.
"So do I get my food or what?" I yelled at the first person I saw. The worker looked at me from the kitchen and then walked away without saying anything.
The man waiting by the register said "I have been standing here for awhile and I was starting to think there wasn't anyone here!"
A group of people came out of the kitchen then.
"Can I talk to the manager please." I asked.
"Yes" said the lady in a black shirt who was walking towards me.
"Are you the manager?" I asked
"Yes" was the reply.
"I have been sitting at the window for at least 5 minutes waiting for my food. No one came to the window. No one offered to take my payment. Nothing."
She then starts asking other employees who was on drive thru. After they established the fact that my food had been sitting at the window this whole time and there was no one on drive thru they handed me my food.
"Is it even still hot?" I asked scornfully. "Oh, do you think this guy might want some help? He has been standing here for a long time too!" I added.
The manager started taking the man's order and another lady went to get me fresh fries. She came back with a large curly fry and let me know that I didn't need to pay for it. Darn right I'm not paying for it! The manager came over then and said that she was going to give me a coupon. She wrote out a coupon for two free value meals. I then left with a scowl still on my face. I have never had to throw a tantrum for my food before. I know it sounds like I was really mean but they should have done there jobs. Just saying.

I am now going to pick up the apartment and get stuff ready for Hans's visit tonight.
